Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!

Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Psalm 150:1-5 ESV

If you’re planning to be in the Statesville, North Carolina, area this Friday night, His Own Heart Ministries has a one-of-a-kind invitation for you.

Well, technically the invitation isn’t from us;the Landmark Church of God family is who’s responsible for bringing Jason Crabb to our corner of the world for a 7pm performance at its campus at 2200 East Broad Street.

And trust me when I say that if you’re a fan of gospel music, this is one community event you won’t want to miss. So if you don’t yet have tickets, visit Landmark’s website or Facebook page.  There you’ll find every detail you need for the show – driving directions, access to online ticket purchases, even information on the church’s mission ministry and how the concert benefits that genuine cause for advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Also trust me when I say you’ll want to keep a close eye on His Own Heart’s Facebook page this week. Between Monday, May 20, and Friday, May 24, we’ll be featuring videos from five of our favorite songs from this multi-faceted artist’s extensive catalog of music.

A popular and multiple Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian musician, Jason Crabb is known both for his role as a lead singer within Southern gospel music as well as for his country- and bluegrass-flavored solo work. Born and raised in Kentucky, a teen-aged Jason joined his parents and five of his siblings in the chart-topping gospel group known as the Crabb Family in 1995. When members went on hiatus to pursue individual projects 12 years, Jason began performing and recording on his own. In short, the boy hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped since.

Jason released his first solo album, aptly entitled Jason Crabb, on Spring Hill Music Group in 2009. It peaked at number 62 on the Billboard 200 and went on to win a Grammy for Best Southern/Country/Bluegrass Album in 2010. He followed it up with Because It’s Christmas later in 2010. In 2011 he released a live album and concert DVD titled The Song Lives On, and the Crabb Family reunited for a tour that same year, followed by the 2012 studio album Together Again, produced by Jason himself. Another solo album, Love Is Stronger, arrived in 2013 on the Gaither Music Group label. Also a frequent collaborator with other gospel artists, he appeared on albums including Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir’s I’m Amazed…LIVE (2005), Gaither Vocal Band’s Better Day (2010), and Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas soundtrack (2014), among many others, as well as on several Gaither Homecoming home video releases. In spring 2015 he released his first solo compilation, Through the Fire: The Best of Jason Crabb. It was followed that autumn by his fourth studio album, Whatever the Road, his fist with Provident Label Group. Last year, he issued the full-length Unexpected.

Jason’s electrifying stage presence, powerhouse vocals, magnetic personality and visible love for and pursuit of a personal relationship with Christ have endeared him to millions across the world; whether through personal appearances, media coverage – from social media (including over 20 million views on YouTube) to live performances at many at impressive venues like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, the Brooklyn Tabernacle and – get this – at Billy Graham’s final crusade in New York City. He has additionally shared the stage with artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Kari Jobe, Vince Gill, Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell, Donnie McClurkin, Wynonna, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Michael W. Smith, Jamie Grace, Sandi Patty, and the Oak Ridge Boys. He even made appearances on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice and with Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame.

Call it what you want – date night, family fun time or (like myself and a group of great friends) a long-overdue girls’ night out: just be sure to get those tickets. Landmark Church, His Own Heart Ministries, and Jason Crabb want to see YOU there!
